Located on the west side of the city near the Salt Lake City International Airport, the highly automated UPS Regional Operations Facility is capable of processing more than 69,000 packages an hour, 600 million annually.
Steel Encounters worked with the design and construction team for more than a year to provide joist and deck, logistics, and detailing for the project which encompassed more than 840,000 square feet of space.
The central core receiving facility is connected to five outbound distribution buildings with a complex conveyance system. A new 12-mw substation was required to accommodate the massive electrical requirements of this facility.
